Use Panicaway to Stop Teen Anxiety and the Fear Of Speaking
I never realized how fearful teenage girls are of speaking in front of their class until I had a conversation with my boyfriend’s daughter. She explained that her and her friends would even take a ‘zero’ for a class assignment in lieu of public speaking. I asked each one of them why they had such intense fear that would literally stop them from doing it at all; here are some of their answers:
- I will be so nervous my voice will tremble and I’ll sound like an idiot.
- I’m too shy.
- What if my clothes aren’t nice enough.
- What if someone laughs at me?
- Forget it, I have a pimple.
- What if they don’t understand what I’m saying?
- There’s a boy I like in my class and I’ll be too embarrassed.
- Way too many eyes are on me at once.
- What if I don’t look pretty enough up there.
- What if I don’t sound smart enough?
For these teen girls these are very real, debilitating circumstances. For those who followed through they couldn’t remember a word they said. With their hearts beating so loudly they couldn’t even hear themselves think, they would begin to feel nauseous, dizzy, off balance and their bodies would begin to shake uncontrollably. If every situation of speaking in public is getting worse and is leaving you feel exhausted, hopeless and discouraged it’s time to fight back and learn how to conquer your anxiety and panic for good! The girls admitted feeling extremely anxious to the point of feeling paralyzed by their fear and surprisingly they didn’t even know that it could be an anxiety or panic attack.
These panic and anxiety attacks are keeping teen girls from believing in themselves and being the confident young ladies they were created to be. I asked the girls, “If I gave you information on how to stop this fear from being so destructive and leave you feeling more relaxed and sure of yourself, would you take it?” They exclaimed, “Yes!”
I believed if the girls got a handle on their confidence and anxiety now it would only help them in the future. They will find that it will only get worse as they get older if they continue to allow anxiety and low self esteem to rob them of a better life.. It will help them will job interviews, university and relationships.
I introduced them to Barry Joe McDonagh’sPanicaway program and they started reading it right away. The feedback I received from the girls is that the Panicaway program was easy to understand and extremely straight forward. I knew that this is going to help the girls tremendously! I’m sure if they continue to practice Panic Away’s One Move Technique their confidence will continue to improve and their fear of getting up in front of their peers will disappear forever.
