Child Parenting 3 Tested Successful Tips To Eliminate Your Parenting Problems
In the event that you think that you are really trying to be a super mother, forget about that! Your child parenting voyage will likely be much happier and more satisfying if you are ready to relax and learn as you go along. Be ready to change your perceptions and beliefs as you go along. There are bound to be parenting difficulties as your child grows up from baby stage to toddler stage to teenagers and even when they are adults. In other words, the problems will still be there but just different types, so don’t try to be perfect because nobody can be perfect!
Nevertheless, to make your child parenting journey more fun and less stressful, below are 3 proven efficient guidelines to help you.
1. Take advantage of Positive Encouragement
It is not uncommon to find that many parents only correct their children’s mistakes but fail to praise what they have done correctly. What parents do not realise is that the child’s good behaviors are not being enforced!
As parents, it is vital that you do not simply scold your children when they misbehave but you should also be on the look out for their good behaviours too. It will show your kids that you not only know and want to correct what they have done wrong but also appreciate their good behaviours too.
As a mother of two, I get the privilege of observing my twins when they are with me so that I can teach them on the spot. I will not hesitate to stop my boy and will also scold him gently when he pushes his twin sister or hits her. On the other hand, on the occasions when he expresses love for his sister by hugging and kissing her or sharing his food with her on his own accord, I don’t forget to praise him excitedly too. Through positive encouragement, my children learns to correct the bad behaviors and do more of what is right instead.
2. Schedule Personal Time For Each Of Your Kid
To be effective in child parenting, it is important that you build bond with your children and the best way to do it is none other than to spend time with each of them every day. You can set aside personal time of around 30 minutes per day or 2 hours per week for each child. In this way, you will have time to speak to each of them individually about their day but you must ensure that this is strictly personal time so there should not be any other interruptions.
For families with very young children, personal time for them can actually be family time whereby you get to sing, play and chat together with your kids. You can use the time to read them a story before they sleep. You must always remember to show your children that you love them by giving them lots of hugs and kisses.
3. Abstain From Physical Punishment
Gone are the days when parents use physical punishment to enforce a rule on their children. Studies have shown that children who have grown up under such harsh environment are more likely to grow up into uncontrollable and aggressive individuals. Instead of using physical punishment on your child, a much more effective child parenting model is through reasoning and love. Should any of your kids break a rule, you can make them clean up the mess or take away a privilege.
